A drop-cut ruby hangs downward on a minimal 925 sterling silver necklace; the red deepens at the tip of the drop. It was worked without a mold; at a workbench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar it was finished one at a time in the hands of a master with more than thirty years at the bench.
Ruby is traditionally associated with courage and life force. In India it was named the lord of stones; today too it is carried with the intention of waking one's inner strength.
