Coral was seated inside a silver frame on the square-form earrings of the Efruz series; the warmth of the red reads even deeper within those straight edges. The pair was worked mold-free; at a workbench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, a master with more than thirty years at the bench kept the two matched to each other. Because the texture of coral is natural, the surface of no two stones comes out exactly alike.
Coral is traditionally associated with the protection of family and with emotional balance; it is counted as the red of the sea. In Anatolia it is carried as a protective stone given to babies and to brides.
