Onyx prayer beads (tesbih); the black beads were lined up one after another with a matte depth, taking the light in rather than throwing it back. No casting mold was used — at a workbench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar they were strung bead by bead in the hands of a master with more than thirty years at the bench. Because every bead was strung by hand, the tension of the strand is its own.
The black beads sit heavy and cool in the palm, and their sound comes out muffled. Onyx is traditionally counted a stone of protection; it is carried with the intention of stillness.
Keep away from perfume, creams and water; wipe with a soft cloth.

If you don't know your ring size, you can measure it in two minutes:
If you have a ring
- Measure the inner diameter of a ring that fits comfortably, in millimetres (from one inner edge to the opposite inner edge).
- Send us the measurement — we will match it to the closest Hashimi size for you.
If you don't have a ring
- Wrap a thin strip of paper or a piece of string around the finger you'll wear the ring on, passing over the knuckle.
- Mark where it meets and measure the strip flat — this is your finger circumference (mm).
- Send us this measurement and we'll find the right size together.
