The Ayat al-Kursi vefk is worked into a 925 sterling silver plate as a pendant, the lines of script engraved into the surface by hand. No casting mold was used - at a bench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, a master with more than thirty years at the bench worked each one on its own. Because the depth of the letters falls a little differently on every plate, no two come out exactly alike.
Ayat al-Kursi is among the first inscriptions Anatolia has carried for centuries with the intention of protection. The vefk layout is that tradition's own square-set form.
