In the Firio chalcedony natural stone hoop earrings the stone was taken onto a round silver hoop; the milky blue of the chalcedony softens the line. No casting mold was used — the piece was worked one at a time at a workbench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, in the hands of a master with more than thirty years at the bench. Because the round of the hoop is turned by hand, the two earrings of the pair are not exactly alike.
Chalcedony takes its name from Chalcedon, the ancient name of Kadikoy; the stone was first known on this shore. It is traditionally carried with the intention of stillness and gentle speech.
Keep away from perfume, creams and water; wipe with a soft cloth.
