Opal jewellery

Opal is a non-crystalline stone that contains water in its structure. Different types sit together on this page: dendritic opal, with dark patterns inside that look like tree branches, soft-toned pink opal and plain opal. Dendritic opal necklaces and sets make up most of the page. In the earrings there are pairings such as pearl with pink opal, amber with opal and smoky quartz with opal; you can find smoky quartz itself on the Quartz page.

The rings include the Vega and Valens series, a woven wire design and a men's ring; the sets include enamelled sets with diamond side stones and the Fer series. A set of opal prayer beads is also included. The silver in the opal jewellery is mostly 925 sterling silver.

According to our care guide, opal contains about twenty per cent water in its structure, and opal that dries out too much can crack. Do not store it in safes that contain a desiccant; leave it in a bowl of water from time to time, and do not keep it in oil.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an opal men's ring?

Yes, there is a silver men's ring with opal, at around 10,550 TL. The other opal rings start at around 3,200 TL. If the size does not fit, it can be exchanged depending on stock availability.

Why does opal crack?

As opal loses the water inside it, it can dry out and crack. Protecting it from dry environments and sudden changes in temperature reduces this risk.

What is dendritic opal?

Dendritic opal is opal with dark patterns inside that look like tree branches or moss. The pattern is different in every stone, so no two dendritic opal necklaces are identical.
