An emerald is taken alone into its setting on a pair of 925 sterling silver earrings; the green stands deeper still against the white of the silver. It was worked mold-free; at a workbench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, it was finished one at a time in the hands of a master with more than thirty years at the bench. In natural emerald the green of two stones never matches exactly; the color of this pair belongs to it alone.
Emerald is traditionally counted as the stone of love and loyalty. Since the mines of Cleopatra it has been associated with renewal; it is carried with an intention of inner strength.
