Tanzanite is seated in its setting on a pair of 925 sterling silver earrings for women; the blue leaning toward purple reads sometimes navy, sometimes violet, depending on the light. It was worked mold-free; at a workbench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, it was finished one at a time in the hands of a master with more than thirty years at the bench.
Tanzanite is traditionally associated with insight and stillness. In the whole world it is found only on the slopes of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania; it is carried to keep an intention clear.
