Baguette-cut rutilated quartz rests lengthwise in the prongs of this 925 sterling silver necklace; the rectangular cut gathers the needles inside the stone into a single line. It was not poured into a mold; it was shaped by the hand of a master with more than thirty years at the bench, at a workbench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar.
Rutilated quartz is traditionally associated with openness and a sense of inner direction. It is also known as Venus's hair; it is carried with the intention of gathering the mind.
