In a claw setting the amethyst shows fully between the 925 sterling silver claws, and because the underside of the stone is left open the light passes straight through. No casting mold was used - it was worked one piece at a time at a bench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, in the hands of a master with more than thirty years at the bench.
Amethyst is traditionally carried with the intention of calm and measured decisions. In ancient Greece it was counted the stone of a clear mind.
