A square-cut solitaire amethyst is taken onto a 925 sterling silver ring; the straight-edged cut frames the depth of the purple on four sides. Not a single mold was used - at a workbench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar it was finished one at a time by the hand of a master with more than thirty years at the bench. It is prepared in ring sizes 8, 9 and 10 (Turkish sizing).
Amethyst is traditionally associated with clarity of mind; in our culture it is also known by the name purple rock crystal. It is carried to keep feeling clear.
