An oval-cut ruby is seated in a silver setting on these earrings for women; the soft line of the oval gathers the red like a drop. It was worked mold-free; at a workbench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, it was finished one at a time in the hands of a master with more than thirty years at the bench.
Ruby is traditionally associated with courage and vital force. In India it has been counted as the lord of stones; it is carried with an intention of waking inner strength.
