A ruby is taken into the center of a flower-form pair of 925 sterling silver earrings; silver petals open around the red. The flower was worked without a mold; at a workbench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, it was built petal by petal in the hands of a master with more than thirty years at the bench.
Ruby is traditionally associated with courage and vital force. In India it is counted as the lord of stones; it is carried with an intention of waking inner strength.
