On this emerald silver pendant the stone is the lead and the workmanship a plain vessel that carries it. It was worked mold-free; at a bench in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar it was made one at a time in the hands of a master with more than thirty years at the bench. Because the vein inside a natural emerald runs differently in every stone, the pattern is never repeated.
Emerald is traditionally counted as a stone of love and loyalty. Its green is named with the color of renewal; it is carried with the intention of continuity.
