Natural stone prayer bead designs
On our natural stone prayer beads, the tassel, spacer beads and kazaz work are mostly 925 sterling silver. There are prayer beads in sapphire, ruby, emerald, aquamarine, zultanite, lapis lazuli and coloured zircon. We have also gathered the ones with emerald beads on the Emerald Prayer Beads page. For those who prefer no stone, sphere-cut and oval-cut silver prayer beads are made in small, medium and large sizes; one of these is oxidised silver.
Because prayer beads are constantly turning in the hand, the hardness of the stone matters. Amber and opal are soft stones and should not be carried in the same pocket as keys. The drop-cut amber prayer beads and the Esma-ul-Husna prayer beads in natural amber also appear on the Amber page. If you keep prayer beads with a silver tassel in a separate case, the tassel will not get crushed and the silver will tarnish more slowly.
The bead shape is given in the product name: sphere, drop, faceted or round cut. When choosing, look at the size of the beads too; prayer beads with small beads take up little room in a pocket, while larger beads feel fuller in the hand. Tasselled designs with a crescent and star motif and the emerald prayer beads with the Ottoman tughra are also on this page.
